Long weekend in New York Part I

At the end of August, I had a long weekend in my favorite city in the world – New York City! ๐Ÿ—ฝ
I had such an amazing weekend over there, especially thanks to my sweet-sweet friend Danielle aka my NYC Barbie ๐Ÿ’•, who made this weekend so cool and full of fun!

Endless fun..

I started this post already at the beginning of September. Always something else came on the way, so it was sitting here half done… At first, I wrote about the days separately but then I thought that I rather don’t. And as there were so many places I want to talk about then I will kick it into different parts and focus on the coolest places only!

Part I is here! ๐Ÿคฉ

NY here I come! ๐Ÿคฉ

PS! As I have been to New York a couple of times before then most of the touristy places I didn’t visit and I will not talk about them in the posts.

I hope you will enjoy my little recaps! ๐Ÿ’›

Never tired of skyscrapers ๐Ÿ™

Foodie baby

I . Calexico Taco Restaurant in Upper-East Side

The first evening we had our dinner at Calexico, a very nice restaurant in the Upper-East side, which serves amazing tacos & very good cocktails also. ๐Ÿ˜‹ And the guacamole there was on point!! ๐Ÿฅ‘

If you wish to have great quality food and cocktails at a good price, then it is definitely a place to go. In my opinion, the price and value ratio was totally fair! I am not sure about the reservations, but on Thursday evening walk-in was okay – they had some spare tables.

Taco-time! ๐ŸŒฎ

II . Pokรฉ Bar

Near the Flatiron District and Times Square, I had a good poke bowl. I just stepped into a random place (for me) called Pokรฉ Bar! The portion was big & the price was good!

Although the manager (?) was kinda rude over there I still recommend the place for the good poke bowl. Basically, the only reason I actually walked in there was to charge my phone – I went into many stores in the area to find a charger for my phone. But I only managed to find one without an adapter. And as I am not living in NY then I kinda needed my phone for the maps and NONE of the LinkNYC which were on my way started charging my phone… ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

So I ordered food from Pokรฉ Bar and asked them to help me out & charge my phone as I only had 1% of the battery left. The lady who was serving me took my phone and wanted to help me but then this manager or someone came out of the other room and said that ”No, I don’t care, we are not charging phones in here..” ๐Ÿคจ

One love ๐Ÿ’•

III . Sushi on Jones

Sushi!!! ๐Ÿฃ I could eat sushi all day, every day! So of course there will be a sushi place on the list! ๐Ÿฅฐ

So there is a place called Sushi on Jones, well actually they have two places in New York. We visited the one which is on the 348 Bowery. This actually was our third choice, but as in other places didn’t have any free tables, then we decided to go there. But we were not disappointed! The sushi was great! I ๐Ÿ’ฏ recommend the Shrimp & Avocado Maki over there!!!

Only bad thing was that there weren’t any cocktails available over there. They said it was fine to buy something from the store and drink over there but we didn’t have the time for that. But it was rather a small problem, and the quality of the sushi rolls weighed that over! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Less talk. More eat! ๐Ÿฑ

IV . Fabbrica Restaurant & Bar

Fabbrica is a place in Brooklyn, on 44 N 6th St. We had a very lovely & delicious brunch over there. We tried egg Benedict, with salmon, salad, and potatoes. Well for me it felt weird to eat potatoes in the morning, but it did taste good, so whatever! ๐Ÿคช

But be prepared that if you order a latte or cappuccino over there you will receive a regular coffee with milk… ๐Ÿค” Well, of course, the time we were there, then they actually were out of milk also. But luckily the smoothie place on the corner helped them out. ๐Ÿ˜

Bruncie-brunch ๐Ÿฅ

V . Pietro Nolita

Oh My God! ๐Ÿคฉ Pink as F*ck as they say themselves. It was a total pink paradise over there, and of course, this was the main reason I wanted to visit that place. Pietro Nolita is located in Lower Manhattan, at 174 Elizabeth St and it is inspired by the 1980s style. It is a popular brunch place, serving Italian food.

Let’s eat some pancakes! ๐Ÿฆ„

We tried the Pink As F*ck Pancakes over there. Basically, they are raspberry pancakes with maple syrup. They tasted good but it was a bit too much for even for sharing between two people in my opinion.. ๐Ÿค“

VI . Cha Cha Matcha

Cha Cha Matcha is a very popular matcha place located at 373 Broome St. This was the place where I lost my matcha virginity ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† First time in my life I tried the matcha latte! ๐Ÿต

Matcha Gracias! ๐Ÿต

I must say – it was better than I expected & I actually really enjoyed it, as it was a great change from a regular latte. But I will still be a member of the coffee-gang… ๐Ÿค“

VII . Milk & Cream Cereal Bar

Around the corner of the Cha Cha Matcha is the Milk & Cream Cereal Bar, on 159 Mott St. This is heaven when you need a real sugar-kick! ๐Ÿคช

Treat yo’self darling! ๐Ÿฅฃ

VIII . Maman

Maman is a very popular bakery with 11 different locations. I visited their Upper East Side coffee place, located on 1424 3rd Ave. And I had an amazing breakfast over there! ๐Ÿคฉ Beside the great bakery and coffee, it is just so cozy and pretty inside and out! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Just so pretty! ๐Ÿ˜

I decided to try a Sophie quiche & strawberry croissant with creme – both were so delicious! ๐Ÿคค And I don’t even start to talk about the latte – I love when the coffee quality is so high that I don’t need to put sugar in my coffee. I think that says it all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Perfect ๐Ÿฅ โ˜•๏ธ

So the first New York blogpost with great munching places I visited this time & what I loved to most are in here. Those places I really recommend to try out when in New York! โœจ
